YAM Goes To Radio One Family Comedy Show

On February 25th 2012, the Young Adult Ministry of Gethsemane Baptist Church had a wonderful time of fun and fellowship at the Radio One Family Comedy Show, which took place at Howard University’s Cramton Auditorium in Washington DC.  The Comedy show was entirely Christian based with clean jokes that were both funny while containing spiritual truth.  The show was hosted by radio personality Marcus Wiley and featured comedians Veda Howard, “Griff”, and Chinnita Morris.  The show’s theme was entitled “Why Women don’t get Married”, which addressed issues such having Godly relationships and Biblical man and womanhood.  A panel discussion was held by all participating comedians giving the audience a chance to ask them questions regarding marriage, relationships and the importance of being guided by Christian principles.  Stay tune for the next YAM outing!

Community Service: DC Diaper Bank

The Young Adult Sunday School class will be offering its community service to the DC Diaper Bank. The DC Diaper Bank provides babies and toddlers in the Washington metro area with the diapers they need to grow up healthy and safe. The need for diapers in our community is great for those who are in need. Diapers can become very expensive for families that are struggling financially and babies that remain in one diaper a day are at risk for infections.

We will serve the diaper bank by having a diaper drive. Starting Sunday September 17, 2011 the Sunday School class will be collecting diapers and/or donations for diapers during the Sunday School hour. The diapers will be dropped off at the diaper bank during the month of October. Please find it in your heart to purchase diapers for babies in need. For more info on DC Diaper Bank, visit http://www.dcdiaperbank.org/
